Maui Scuba Diving Airport Beach. Located just 10 minutes from Lahaina Town and just on the North end of Kaanapali Beach. As you can see the entry is very easy and the reef starts just where the people are in the water. The main reef goes to 25-30 foot depths and extends left to right or North to South. When you go past the offshore reef end of the main reef there are large pieces of reef scattered out to the catamarans moored offshore and the depths go to 40 feet. The best diving is within the 40 foot range. The farther out you go the depths increase. Many fish species, turtles and eel can be seen here. This is an excellent dive for first timers or if you just want to become comfortable diving again. The picture to the right is one example of one species of fish one may expect to see on this reef.
